Is Skedsheet another version of JobTracker?

with 2 comments

For the past 6 years, we’ve been helping companies solve their scheduling problems with Moraware JobTracker. Skedsheet came about because we asked ourselves “If you were starting from scratch, what product would you build today?”

Luckily for us, we’re not starting from scratch. We’ve learned a lot over the past 6 years about replacing whiteboards and spreadsheets with dedicated scheduling software. And we’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge on the technical side around building robust web applications.

For those who know us from JobTracker, it’s natural to wonder if Skedsheet is just JobTracker light. Skedsheet is completely independent from JobTracker, and it has a very different purpose. (For those looking for a small version of JobTracker, we sell JobTracker Basic Edition for $99/month.)

Here are a few key differences between Skedsheet and JobTracker:

Skedsheet JobTracker
Purpose? Organize your schedule in a way that’s as easy to use, and show it on a calendar for easier understanding, without re-writing everything to Outlook or a whiteboard. Track every change made so you never lose important information. Track every important detail of every job online in one place, so everyone can find exactly what they need to do their job.

Who uses it? One person can start using it, share it with others. Maybe it grows to entire company using it, maybe not. Entire company – JobTracker is the central repository for job information.

How to get started? Anyone who wants to use it can start for free with no approval from the boss. Spend a couple minutes uploading a spreadsheet you already have, and start using it immediately. Business owners and key decision makers agree that JobTracker is the best solution, then spend a couple weeks implementing and getting current job information into the system.

  2. […] oh.  Isn’t that what this blog is all about?  We intend to make a spreadsheet that ties into a calendar.  We intend for it to look pretty and be useful.  And, we intend to spread the word about […]
